My love for sewing began in junior high Home Economics class. Since that time it is difficult for me to not do some sewing on a daily basis. Not only is it my passion but also my therapy! As a former Family and Consumer Science (Home Economics) teacher I have been able to share my love for sewing with youth and adults of all ages. I have worked as a sales associate at a sewing machine dealership as well as education coordinator at a fabric store. My sewing skills include home decor and quilting but my favorite is fashion sewing.
I feel everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to sew. It is a life long skill and can lead to a career in all aspects of fashion and design, but most importantly, it is FUN!

  1. I am trying to find a class for bra construction….no pun intended. Let me know if it’s in the future or maybe you know of something. Thanks so much.

  2. Debbie and I haven’t caught the bra bug at this point although I have tried undies and slips. A few ideas for you-there is a Craftsy class and Sewaholic has explored the subject extensively. ASG usually hosts bra making classes but I don’t see anything on their calendar. I’ll keep my ears open-good luck!

  3. I am also interested in finding people who love Alabama Chanin style of sewing. I will come to a meeting soon and hope for the best. Thanks

I took your perfect tee class which ended last Saturday. I wasn’t at the point where I could get help with the fitting part of the sleeves and body of the tee. I have now finished the neck, basted the sleeves in and sewed up the sides. It’s very big on me and I’m clueless on my next steps. Would I be able to come to the Workroom Social on November 29th and have you help me finish up the fitting part of my project?
