Debbie’s Garments:
Pink MoleskinTopper: Kwik Sew 4104, View A
Pattern and Construction Changes:
1. The coat is meant to be lined but due to the satiny finish of the moleskin I skipped the lining and drafted a pattern for center front and neck facings.
2. I choose not to do pockets or use interfacing.
3. A walking foot helped ease stitching slippery seams and pucker free topstitching.
4. This is my second coat from this pattern. It is well drafted and goes together quickly.
Quilted Tunic: Butterick 6388, View D
Fabric: Double faced poly novelty quilted knit.

Pattern and Construction Changes:
1. Front, side front and back were shortened one inch below the waist. Sleeves were shortened two inches. The height of the neckband was shortened by one inch.
2. Cho se not to add pockets and did not use interfacing.
3. Most seams were serged however a jeans needle worked best with this fabric for topstitching.
Rayon Cherry Print Tunic: Butterick 6214
Pattern and Construction Changes:
1. Used one fabric and cut the length of view B. Added 3/4 sleeves and eliminated the pocket.
2. Neck edge is finished with a serged bias edge.
3. Three inch side seams vents with a shirt tail hem.
Red Rayon Jersey Top: Jalie #2682 View B
1. Raise neckline 1-1/2” if desired.
2. Shortened lower front and back and used 3/4 length sleeves.
3. This is a great pattern. Well drafted, easy and quick to sew.
Drapey Neck Tee: Burda 6695, View C
Fabric: Very lightweight sweater knit

Pattern and Construction Changes:
1. Shortened front and back two inches.
2. Not sure I like the neck but it is a fun, easy and quick to sew pattern.

Toaster Sweater
Version #2
Textured black/white ponte

1. I didn’t clip neck curve-just trim to ¼”.
2. Sleeves long again. Made size Large but could trim down shoulders.
3. Hem treatment works well.
Boyfriend Cardi

2. Tried to make a more shaped cardi than what we see in RTW.
3. Added pockets and buttons.
4. Neck band is 2” narrower than pattern. Didn’t interface.
Butterick 6388
Blue French terry

1. Added hip width. Coverstitched hems.
Raglan Turtleneck
Butterick 6389
Black/blue print rayon

1. Added width at hip, placed CB on fold so no zipper.
2. Nice fit.
Tunic Top
Butterick 6388
Green/black knit

1. Nice style elements-back yoke, side inserts, neck band.
2. Neck was floppy so it overlapped into a smaller circle.

Simplicity 8059
Black Foxy Lady

1. Didn’t interface neckband. Used triple zigzag for understitching. Turned band to inside and coverstitched-didn’t turn under raw edge.
2. Didn’t put gathered band at center back. Cut off 1” at bottom and hemmed 1.25”.
