Debbie’s Garments:

Tee-Shirt Dress with Banded Trim: New Look 6449, View B with 3/4 sleeves.
Royal Stripe Rayon Bamboo for dress, 1/4yd interlock blend for bands.
Pattern and Construction Changes:
1. Cut sleeve in half lengthwise down center. Add seam allowance to back sleeve only.
2. Add shirt tail hem to front and back of tee dress.
3. Cut 1 and 1/4 inch strips for trim.
4. Sew trim to center edge of front sleeve, rst. Wrap trim around seam allowance, press and stitch in the ditch to secure. Sew trim to bottom edge of back sleeve and 5 inches up center back. Wrap, press and stitch in the ditch.
5. Lap front sleeve over back sleeve at seam allowance. Pin and stitch front to back sleeve.
6. Tim seam allowance on side edges of front tee only. Pattern calls for woven but I used a Sew trim to front tee in same manner as sleeve trim. For back tee, sew trim up 5 inches on side, around curve and 5 inches up other side. Tim seam allowance on side edges of front tee only.
7. Stitch front to back at shoulders. Lap front tee at seam allowance on side edge of back tee and stitch.
8. Complete tee dress as pattern instructs.

Cap Sleeve Fitted Tee: Burda 7051, view A, White Ponte amount to pattern.
Pattern and Construction Changes:
1. Pattern is recommended for wovens but a stable knit works well.
2. Eliminate zipper – with the knit tee easily goes over your head.
3. Front facings were eliminated and a French Trim was used at neckline.
4. Sleeve hems were cover stitched 5/8” instead of using bias tape finish.

Navy stripe Ponte Knit unlined Jacket: Butterick 5926.
Made to pattern except pockets were eliminated.

Print and Stripe Tee: Butterick 6207, 3/4yd to 1yd of knit for body and sleeves.
Made to pattern except softening the shirt tail curve.

Uber Raglan Tee
McCall’s 7574
Black cotton knit with lycra

1. Should have listened to Debbie –photo on envelope lured me in to thinking it would look like that on me. Maybe in a rayon knit but severe curve on shoulder, etc.
2. Kind of nice curve on short sleeve hem.
3. It’s in the recycling already.

Sweater Top
Vogue 9022
Double sided knit

1. Shortened dress to a top and didn’t use pockets.
2. Tried to use CB seam for shaping but have learned that I need princess seams or darts in back for more shape.
3. “Short” sleeve version is long.

Bias Shells
Burda 6501
Activewear solid/rayon print

1. All bias bindings for necks and armholes.
2. Shortened ruffled top by 1” before applying ruffle.
3. Ruffle hem called for pressing up 5/8”, stitching with small zig zag, then trim.
4. Used shorter top length for vee neck but added 1” for hem.
5. No need to narrow shoulders!

Cocoon Cardigan
Jalie 3353
Sweater Knit
1. Great pattern-quick and easy.
2. Love the length. Try short sleeves maybe?
3. Took sleeves in for snugger fit.

Pull On Pants
Jalie 3243
Flannel

1. Searching for a good elastic waist, narrower fit pant. This one fit right out of the envelope. May lower front waistline.
2. Shorts are so quick and easy to stitch up to try out a pants pattern.
